About the piece

Cut a circle into equally spaced points and number them from zero. Join point one to point two, point two to point four, point three to point six, and keep going, every point to its double. The chords cross each other so densely that their crowding draws a special curve: the cardioid.

When you change the multiplier the curve changes with it. Three gives two lobes, four gives three, and the count keeps step with the table for as long as the multiplier stays small. More chords and higher tables display more complex patterns, comparable to flowers.
